You have your day. During your day you have little gaps. Each day you fill in some gaps with a few calls here and there. You make the decision to not go to bed every day until you did 20 reach outs picking up the phone and calling a lead. The rest of the time you're doing warm market, Facebook, other meetings...whatever it is you do every day in your business. You take the 20 a Day challenge and at the end of the year, look at your result. All you did was fill in the gaps of your time with leads...calling 5200 people or so during the next year. How many people could you recruit...in a addition to what you do during your main prospecting time. How many new customers would you have?? The numbers would create the result.
Thanks Ray for this info about the lead company. Some time ago I purchased Todd’s script book and purchased a large group of leads from another company. After over 400 calls I realized that the company had sold my ‘exclusive’ leads, muliple times. Did I consider it a waste of time and money? No, it was a very good training opportunity for me. Most people have a job and work and can’t take time off to get a ‘telemarketer’ job. But they can get a script book and get a group of inexpensive leads and use it as a form of training on the phone. After a large no. of calls the phone can become a familiar and usable tool.
Remember, however, that a percentage of something is better than one hundred percent of zero sales – so it is a good idea to network with more experienced marketers. Take advantage of the expertise and training that they offer, and use their resources to build your business. One you are ready, you can always bring in new people, and even share leads with them – building your downline so that they will supply you with a good residual income.
The truth is there are a lot of ways to generate leads. While the internet is good, nothing will ever beat face to face. Even if you do meet someone online, you can’t expect them to just go to your website and sign up. In most cases, you want to get on the phone or on SKYPE with them and have a conversation to build the relationship. That’s where most online people mess up. Anyone can generate thousands of leads online, but it takes the talented person to convert them into customers and distributors. I build my business 100% by blogging and do very well with it, but I spend a lot of time on the phone and SKYPE with my leads.
